Financial Controller

Tony is a qualified accountant with over 30 years’ experience. He has held a variety of accounting and general management roles across a range of industries from construction through to hospitality, insurance, health, finance, sales & marketing and audit services.

Tony joined Hawkins Construction (now known as Hawkins Building Projects) as Financial Controller in November 2013. His role involves a combination of financial analysis and business management.

Tony’s understanding of both ‘the numbers’ and construction activity, allows him to plan for and manage the building processes’ impact on the financial aspects of the business.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Shortening reporting deadlines at Hawkins.
  • Building a number of successful businesses from the ground up.
  • Successfully managing a New Zealand company and achieving annual growth of 5-10% of sales turnover. During Tony’s tenure as General Manager, the membership base grew from 4,500 to 5,500 and annual turnover topped $180m.
