Hawkins represented at Annual 2014 NZIOB Awards

The New Zealand Institute of Building (NZIOB) awards were held on Friday 22nd August. These unique awards are the only New Zealand building industry awards that celebrate and recognise individuals’ excellence in the construction process rather than focussing on awarding a specific project. Shane Beech from Hawkins Construction in Wellington won the, Holcim $25 – 50 million category, for his work on the Newtown Park Apartments. This project was a part of Wellington City Council’s multi-million dollar housing upgrade programme giving the apartment complex a new lease of life. Chetan Jeram, site manager for SPCA Wellington’s Project Re-Home, took home a highly commended award for his work in the Steel Construction NZ $2.5 – 5 million category. Another highly commended award went to Craig McCullough in the Coloursteel $10 – 25 million category for the Citygate Building in Hamilton. Congratulations to the three Hawkins winners and our finalists Craig Treloar and Sam Lockie. These awards are a reflection of the hard work and dedication that they have poured into the projects they have worked on and it is a great achievement.
