Bunnings Gisborne – Old Milk Site

A large site that required asbestos containment and removal in accordance with Department of Labour regulations, concise identification/separation of contaminated/non-contaminated materials, and dust mitigation initiatives determined the Old Milk site project would be completed on time and within budget. Due to the age of the site, there was archeological and heritage interests that had to be worked through once the project had started. Clear communication with stakeholders (client/public/service providers/govt depts/media) was established. Hawkins understood that there was a shortage of aggregate in the Gisborne area, and as part of their tender proposal offered to crush the concrete to ensure the client qualified for Green Star status.
