Rapid mobilization of specialised equipment was required for the instant clean up of the Grove Mitre 10 store in Onehunga. Immediate containment of the site was imperative to eliminate asbestos contamination risk to the community. Successful contamination remediation was achieved due to; a sound asbestos containment and demolition methodology, Environmental, Health & Safety plan, custom TMP, subcontractor resourcing/management, and transparency and regular communication with all stakeholders. These procedures, encompassing a strict decontamination policy for all workers and equipment used, enabled the client to reopen their neighboring business the following day, which bordered the site but was untouched by the fire.
