Mission Heights Schools, Flat Bush
Awarded a 2008 Environmental Implementation Award
Approximately 90% of the soil and clay material cleared from the Mission Heights School project was able to be re-utilised onsite for soil and erosion control initiatives. Hawkins involvement with the early design initiatives ensured that an inflexible deadline (the commencement of the school term) was achieved. A challenging project due to the gradient of the site and large land area. Sediment and erosion control measures, such as several flocculated silt ponds, (in accordance with TP90), were established for the duration of the project. Drainage works consisting of 2000 lineal metres of stormwater and sewer lines, was also undertaken. |
