Gulf Harbour, Hobbs Wharf Seawall
Awarded the 2008 NZCF Environmental Excellence Award
50,000 m2 of Earthworks, sheet piling and coffer dams transformed this excavated basin into a new boat harbour at Hobbs Wharf. An Environmental assessment study was undertaken resulting in the installation of a permanent dewatering system which stabilized stormwater diversion channels, enabled clean water diversion and facilitated the successful relocation of protected Pohutukawas. Silt fences were used to trap any minor sediment flows as continuous sediment and erosion control was required. |
