Andrew is a very experienced health and safety (H&S) specialist, having worked both here and Australia in his chosen field. He is responsible for the implementation of Hawkins’ safety policies and strategies and carries out internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with organisational corporate procedures and legislative requirements.

Andrew was an integral part of developing programmes for Site Safe, a not-for-profit industry-wide organisation that aims to promote improvements in the health and safety practices of the construction industry.

Andrew is proactive and helpful and has a strong understanding of H&S legislation. He communicates this knowledge effectively and practically to the workforce. His health, safety and environmental role extends beyond management responsibilities to being active in communicating an ethos of safety in the field through education and example. Here his passion is evident.

Exceptional communication skills have given him the ability to encourage people to “buy into” health and safety at all levels whilst also building relationships with stakeholders in the industry.
